Today Richard Sumner of RS Security Consultants Ltd presented at a thought-provoking forum at Ridge Park Ltd on the Code of Practice certification and the best-practice guidelines to consider when designing and installing CCTV.
The aim was to engage with the business and public sector community and provide tangible support to the concept of CCTV compliance where public privacy is considered side by side with a system`s intended purpose. Richard, along with Tony Chebrika of Peel L&P, spoke of Peels’ MediaCityUK project, the investment, and decisions they made with this, the challenges it brought, and the benefits it continues to bring daily to all stakeholders of the site. They gave a technical overview of the Peel property portfolio and the highly effective long-term ‘critical friend’ relationship the two businesses share.
A collaborative approach encourages the adoption of new methods and systems and the gathering of so many knowledgeable professionals proved very valuable indeed to facilitate dialogue on the topic.
Thank you Dougie Loynes for organising the forum, it was a delight to be amongst so many industry peers, and to meet Commissioner for the Retention and Use of Biometric Material and Surveillance Camera, Fraser Sampson, we look forward to the next one.
